GOURMET LOVE
“Spreading love, one recipe at a time!”
The back-story that inspired the menu that inspired the recipes! Foodie and Love stories combining love, romance, and adventure (remember this is all fiction my friends)! Let me take my paintbrush, paint the scene and the mood to take you there…

Love Dateline: You Can Leave Your Hat On
Where: Your Place
When: Your Time
Mood: Vulnerable & adventurous
Emotion: Joy
Steam
Drink in this steamy menu and music together with your love to set the sexy scene. As I type this blog entry, “You Can Leave Your Hat On” by Joe Cocker – one of the sexiest songs ever recorded – is coincidentally playing on my iPhone right now! I kid you not, I tell the truth, it’s on my playlist! This is really all you have to play during your meal…there is no more advice that I can give you, just listen to it and you’ll know what to do! I love this song so much that I was already inspired to name the appetizer after this song, my all-time favourite steamy song! In fact, in some countries, the song itself is considered a strip tease anthem…who knew (I know what you’re thinking – where have I been)? On a sad note, it was so tragic to hear of Joe Cocker’s passing in 2014, what a loss, what a man, what talent. If you don’t know the song (and especially if you do), play it during this meal, especially during the appetizer, oh and dessert! Give thanks to Joe Cocker for leaving us with his music. Enjoy listening and maybe take in the video from 9 ½ weeks to see why this song works! It sings of passion. Oh and don’t forget your hat…
Passion
Speaking of passion, this is one of my all-time favourite decadent chocolate desserts (yes, I LOVE all chocolate, never biased, but this is simply ‘the’ best). I found the recipe years and years ago in a magazine (yes, I admit that I’m obsessed with collecting recipes, I’m a recipe ‘stalker’ of sorts). I’ve refined it over the years, perfected it and made it my own…it’s a keeper! I especially love the way the warm molten chocolate slowly pours out of the cake. The red wine will pair perfectly with your dessert, why not, the bottle is already open! Food nurtures your soul, especially chocolate (or is that just me)? Enjoy sharing with your love.
If Ya Got It, Flaunt It
The main course – Stuffed Chicken Valentino in Champagne Mushroom Sauce – sounds as decadent as it tastes (so…I just had to include it in this menu). I made this dish for a Valentine’s Day catering gig many moons ago and it was a HIT. My hungry customers loved it and ate it right up with their loves (some even reported that it was ‘the’ dish that won their Valentine over…I’ll leave that to your imagination). Make it, love it, you’ll be glad you did…I assure you. Whatever works, if ya got it, flaunt it I say. Put your heart and soul into this meal, love every minute and be love.
XO
PS Love your food, what comes from the heart touches the heart! Craving isn’t a ‘Bad Word,’ food IS sexy!
PSS I came up with this handy wallet-sized ‘Manly Ranking Scale’ – pull it out when you need it! It’s similar to the Richter Magnitude Scale that measures earthquakes (the idea came to me as I survived a major earthquake in Vegas years ago). I’ll grade each man of my life at the time of my Love Dateline story! Feel free to grade the man of your life, If he’s a +10 (and I hope he is), I’d say go for it!:
He’s a keeper as you ‘drink in’ this experience together.
Some music to get you in the mood!
