This coconut green tea iced latte is a powerhouse drink, it fills you with energy and keeps you satisfied for ages! Matcha is a special type of powdered green tea that is grown and produced in Japan. The matcha green tea leaves are shade-grown for the last few weeks of their growth phase which makes leaves produce more chlorophyll giving the matcha this amazing recognizable green hue. During this phase, the plant produces more L-Theanine – that has a somewhat similar effect in our body as caffeine – minus the nervous energy. After harvesting, leaves are carefully ground to produce a fine powder – Matcha. Matcha is then used to brew an antioxidant-rich frothy green tea. Unlike other types of teas, matcha is not strained out before consuming. You are consuming the entire leaf which makes matcha very potent. Matcha green tea contains a powerful arsenal of vitamins and minerals but also a unique, strong antioxidant. That’s why matcha is known to be one of the worlds powerful superfoods which encourages feelings of euphoria!
Warning, this warming tea is perfect for chilly nights, running races and leaping tall buildings. Ginseng is said to have many anti-aging benefits, from improving heart health to increasing endurance, relieving fatigue and enhancing immunity. Ginseng definitely tastes ‘of the earth,’ but with the overtones of ginger and lemon, this elixir has a nice zesty flavour to it PLUS the benefits of ginseng are worth every single last solitary sip!! See you at the race!
Blueberries are nutritional powerhouse firefighters and are great at fighting the blues!! They are also said to aid with depression, mood boosting, improving brain function, improving memory and thinking skills, prevention of cancer, heart disease, treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs), an anti-inflammatory and an excellent source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. Blueberry extract also contains quercetin which is excellent for boosting your immune system! By soaking the blueberries in the vodka, it extracts a lot of the beneficial properties from the blueberries into the vodka (the tincture). This tincture has a faint flowery taste of blueberries and is quite refreshing.
