My creed to you is that you’re gonna’ LOVE this dip, it’s the ‘bomb’!
Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 10 minutes until softened, but not browned.
Add rum and cook 3 minutes longer. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Place lime zest and juice, Tobasco sauce, cream cheese, mayonnaise and crab meat into a small oven-proof casserole dish or ramekin.
With a spatula blend warm onion mixture with rind, juice, Tobasco, cream cheese, mayonnaise and crab meat with onion mixture until well combined. Add salt to taste.
Heat for 20 minutes.
Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and serve with crackers or crostini or your favourite dippers!
