Euphoria DIY Blueberry Tincture Mood Booster!

Blueberries are nutritional powerhouse firefighters and are great at fighting the blues!! They are also said to aid with depression, mood boosting, improving brain function, improving memory and thinking skills, prevention of cancer, heart disease, treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs), an anti-inflammatory and an excellent source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. Blueberry extract also contains quercetin which is excellent for boosting your immune system! By soaking the blueberries in the vodka, it extracts a lot of the beneficial properties from the blueberries into the vodka (the tincture). This tincture has a faint flowery taste of blueberries and is quite refreshing.

 2 medium-sized Mason Jars
 5 cups blueberries (fresh preferably, but frozen is OK too)
 4 cups vodka, 40% proof
 ¾ cup raw, unpasteurized honey (optional)
 4 Droppers

Partially fill your mason jar with blueberries and use a ‘masher’ to crush blueberries. Add the balance of the blueberries and ‘mash’ those as well.


Add vodka, cover completely until just about the top of the jar, add honey. Shake well, open and check to ensure that the blueberries are all completely covered.


Keep in a cool, dark place for one-two months (the longer, the more potent). Shake daily.


After at least one month, strain and serve. Take orally as a tincture or use as a blueberry cordial for ice cream or your favourite fruit! 40 drops (2ml)/day/adult is a good daily booster.
