Rehab Green Spirulina Detox Energy Bites.
Spirulina is an algae, deep green in colour. Before you say, "Ewe algae" - it's an excellent source of protein, and iron, and provides antioxidants. These nutrient packed energy bites pack a powerful punch of plant-based protein and fiber leaving you satiated, with just the perfect amount of natural sweetness. With all of these benefits, now you 'get' why I put spirulina in my smoothie every single day!
1 cup dates (soak in hot water to soften, then drain)
1/3 cup tahini
1/3 cup pumpkin seeds
1/3 cup ground flaxseeds
1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips, (71% cacao and higher)
1/4 cup almond flour
2 tablespoons Spirulina Powder (start with less and add slowly until your preferred flavour is achieved)
½ cup unsweetened coconut
Toppings:
Choose your favourite - coconut or ground flax or ground pumpkin seeds.

Add all the ingredients to your food processor. Process until well combined. Roll mixture into 12 energy bites, and roll in your favourite toppings.
