Tenacious Taste of India Zesty Lemon Granita.

A light, icy dish with a refreshing, zesty flavour, that's a cinch to make!

 1 cup water
 1/3 cup coconut palm sugar or raw, unpasteurized honey, to taste
 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
 Pinch turmeric
 2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
 A splash of love

In a small saucepan, bring water, sugar (to taste), ginger and turmeric to a boil. Cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, cool to room temperature; stir in lemon juice.

Transfer to an 8-inch square dish. Freeze for 1 hour; stir with a fork. Freeze 2-3 hours longer or until completely frozen, stirring every 30 minutes 30 Minutes.

Stir granita with a fork just before serving; spoon into small dishes. Garnish with lemon zest and serve.
