Conscious Fresh Mint Tea Tonic.

A study in the International Journal of Neuroscience found that peppermint tea can increase focus and concentration…and yes...mindfulness! Moroccan Mint Tea is the national drink of Morocco and one of the most important rituals of the day. When I visited Morocco, I was invited by shopkeepers and even street vendors who were more than happy to share a glass of tea with me! Oh, and maybe sell me a carpet or two!

Ingredients

Traditional Mint Tea Ingredients.

1 tablespoon gunpowder tea (a form of Chinese tea - each leaf has been rolled into a small round pellet)

5 cups boiling water

Large handful fresh mint leaves

5-7 sugar cubes, per two cups (or use your favourite sweetener because we all know that sugar cubes aren't good for us)

A splash of love

Method

Boil water. Place gunpowder tea into teapot. Cover tea leaves with a first pouring of 1 cup water and immediately pour back out.

Add mint leaves and pour water over the tea.

Add sugar cubes or sweetener to taste.

Mindfully pour into a small Moroccan glass (or a regular small heatproof glass) before pouring the contents back into the teapot to mix the ingredients well.

Repeat this procedure 3 times. Steep 5 minutes 5 Minutes, and then pour from a height to aerate the tea (just as a professional would)!!!
